I am sure I should start out with some niceties like; “Hello and welcome to my blog,” and I’ll get there, but first, scroll down and subscribe to my blog by email. Yes, it’s a bit like skipping the courtship and going straight to the sex, but I have needs. I am freakin tired of looking at “Join thirteen other subscribers,” everytime I go on my site, it’s embarrassing. It’s not difficult, enter your email address, click on “subscribe,” and then go to your email and confirm you want to follow. As a subscriber, you will get an email (one freakin email) when I publish a post. However you got here, be it by accident or intentionally, you’re here now, and you may never return, so just subscribe and help buoy my self confidence.

   Now that the sex is behind us, hello, my name is Curly, and welcome to Explore. Dream. Discover. Travel, my attempt at a travel blog.

   I have always enjoyed taking and posting pictures, but it’s not until recently I started writing about our travels. My wife Day, and I have been fortunate, we have traveled quite a bit thus far, and I wish I had kept a journal all these years. So, Explore. Dream. Discover. Travel, is just that, my travel journal, for you to read, if you’d like. There’s a bit of everything here, destination ideas, tips, and links to tours and attractions, pictures and stories. And it’s the stories  I like to write.

   I am finding, that I like to write. How often do any of us write anything other than a text, an instant message or a Facebook post anymore? As I write, I think and ponder, I am being introspective and I learn about myself. Writing is cathartic and it’s cheaper than a therapist, writing, makes me happy. But what about the reader, what about you?

   I am often amazed by the power of a song. The lyrics to a song can make us happy or sad, they can empower or inspire us. We are moved and influenced by literature and poetry. Words, I love words, and if strung together correctly, maybe, just maybe, I can inspire someone to Explore. Dream. Discover. Travel. To be on the safe side though, I will add quotes from far better writers than myself. And this one, is one of my favorites. I’ve read it dozens of times, and everytime I do, I get lost in self reflection.
