In reply to Sahana Kulur. You are correct Sahana, the pretty dress/fancy suit wearing (aspiring) social media stars have really become an impediment to enjoying the most beautiful places on earth. It is unfortunate that those of us who travel for nothing but the joy of travelling now have to share so many places with those who turn tranquil locales into hours long photo shoots, complete with tripods and in many cases nowadays, artificial lighting. Getting a quick 5 second photo to remember a place by is now an ordeal which reminds me more of going shopping on Black Friday. Let's hope that this is just a passing fad, and we earth trekkers can get back to enjoying the globe in peace.

I’ve really been enjoying your website while planning an upcoming trip to Poland, but was disappointed to see the Faroe Islands recommended as a top 30 destination due to the controversy about their dolphin and whale hunting practices. I know your site is about travel rather than environmental, social and other issues, but I wish more people knew about these practices. Appreciate all the other info and recommendations though – your site is a great resource.

In reply to Sahana Kulur. That pretty much sums up our visit too. I think an overnight stay would make it a better experience, to stroll the streets in the morning and evening when they are less crowded. Cheers, Julie
