Hello Rina. I recommend taking a look at our 10 Day Italy Itinerary, which has several different ways to plan an Italy itinerary, depending on your interests, some with a car, some by public transportation. We also have a 14 Day Italy Itinerary which is primarily done by public transportation. If you have any questions after you look at those, let me know. Cheers, Julie

As far as location, I think Vincenza will work well for Venice, Verona, and Milan. It may be a bit too far from Lake Como, making that a longer day. If you are planning on using public transportation, you would have to research train/bus routes and timetables to see what kind of transportation time (and potential transfers) is involved. Cheers, Julie

We are thinking of staying in Vicenza and doing day trips to Lake Como, Venice, Milan/Verona. Do you think these are feasible trips or too much for one day?

Hello Lauren. The food is amazing all over Italy. Bologna, which we have not been to yet (but are playing around with the idea of visiting later this year) is known as a foodie city, especially for its pasta. Tuscany (+ Florence) is definitely a place to consider, with its beautiful landscapes, small towns, great food, and wine. That would be easy to combine with Bologna and you could also add on the Cinque Terre and a city like Venice or Rome for a nice 10 day trip. Plus, Tuscany is beautiful in May. But really, you can’t go wrong anywhere in Italy and taking a food tour or two would be something to consider. If you haven’t seen it yet, we have over 100 articles about Italy in our Italy Travel Guide, including many sample itineraries. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers, Julie
