In reply to Helen McGee. We did what I remember as a 2 hour tour from Krabi. We did it December 2014, so my memory is a bit hazy. We either set it up through our hotel or a local tour company, I can't remember. But basically we were taken by boat just offshore, swam with the plankton, and then spent some time on the beach at night. A 7 hour trip does sound like a long time for something like this. I have used your site as a refence for various trips I’ve planned. I’m headed to SE Asia this summer! You mentioned swimming with bioluminescent plankton which is a bucket list item for me. All I can find as far as tours in the area are 7 hour trips. Can you please tell me specifically where you did this near Krabi as I’d really like to do this while in the area?

Just got back from Southeast Asia and China, and found your blog as I was putting together my notes/pictures/personal blog post. Wish I would’ve found yours earlier, as there’s great info in there. I love the structure of your blog as well, and the linking. I’ll probably try to mimic somehow. My QQ – how did you create the map of your travels? Love that, and I’d like to do the same to provide our family members a perspective of where we went and relation to other countries. Thanks for your great writing and work. Keep traveling!!!

In reply to Cindy. I think it's possible but the timing could be tight, just because of the location of those three places relative to one another. If you plan to take buses, it could take quite a bit of time to get from city to city. Flying between each of them makes it much more doable. Of the three places, I'd say put the most time into Siem Reap and the least amount of time into Luang Prabang. All are wonderful, at least from our experiences there 10 years ago. Cheers, Julie
