Thank you all for such great content – we go to your site first and often when we plan trips. We are leaving Athens now and followed your tips. We walked to Mount Lycabettus and were hungry for lunch after the long walk and tried Smak from your recommendation. After many meals of traditional Greek food, our gang was ready for something different and that hit the spot! Thanks again for all the great travel advice!

In reply to Kristen. I see that. That really makes planning an itinerary challenging, since some other sites (like the Roman Agora) also have timed entry tickets. Here is a list of our favorite things to do in Athens, starting with our absolute must-see: The Acropolis/Parthenon, rooftop bars for a view of the Acropolis, Philopappos Hill, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Agora and Temple of Hephaestus, Plaka, Mount Lycabettus, and the Acropolis Museum. I will be updating this itinerary and our other info in the near future, based on these new changes to the ticketing options. Have a great time in Athens! Cheers, Julie

It looks like the Combination Ticket is no longer able after 4/1/25. That being said, and knowing that every entry ticket is now paid individually as well as timed… can you please share your like top 5 -10 stops that are Must Dos if you have 2-3 days in Athens? Thanks.

In reply to Jessica. Our experience is limited to the 2.5 days we had in Athens and then the Greek Islands. With more time, you could look into food or walking tours in Athens or visit more museums. I'm sure there are some good day trips you can take from Athens that would be worth considering as well. But I don't have any specific recommendations of places you can add on to your itinerary, other than what we have listed in our Greece Travel Guide. Cheers, Julie
