On the eve of another vacation, it seems like the perfect time to write this post, which, I have been looking forward to writing for more than a year and a half.

Sometime back in 2020, Day and I decided we were going to spend January, February and March of 2021 in Italy, an extended vacation. Of course because of Covid-19, we had to cancel our plans.

2021 however, has been an exciting year for Day and I. We sold our house in January. We’ve taken a few nice vacations, and are about to head to Smith Falls, Canada, where we have rented a boat and will cruise the Rideau Canal with our friends K and J. We’ve also rescheduled our Italy trip for this coming January, February and March.

Of course, knowing Day’s position at work could not be held, she gave her notice, and not to be outdone, I have given my notice as well. Yes, after 32 years at Pioneer Valley Concrete Service, my last day will be at the end of November.

What are our plans? We have none. Go to Italy, enjoy the one another, figure out our lives when we get back. I hope you decide to read along, as Day and I figure out the next chapter, over cappuccinos in Italy. Life is perfect!
