I posted this on Facebook January 28th:
Twenty plus years ago, Day and I left our apartment in Amherst and moved into our new home in South Hadley. That first house was a dump. We tore it down four years later, and built a brand new house. It’s a beautiful home, with years and years of memories. We enjoyed our home with friends and family, Work Parties, Fire and Wine nights, Meat Night gatherings and of course, Friend’s Thanksgiving!
Selling the house has always been part of the plan, it happened quicker than I thought though, and today, is our last day in our home.
Thank you to all our friends and family for making our house a home these past twenty plus years! On to the next chapter.
And this, was the last picture taken of me and Day at our home.
So, now what? Day and I are currently living in Holyoke, in our friends’ two family, in the upstairs apartment. It’s a great apartment, big, and both Day and I feel very comfortable here. It’s nice to have our friends so close, and they’re very generous, so rents pretty cheap. But, this is temporary, and we have plans.
We’re hoping to take a few vacations before the year is over, if travel restrictions permit. I’d like to take my mom to Prague in September, to see Jaroslav and Helena. We canceled a Christmas trip with friends to Vienna and Prague last year, but are hoping to do it this coming Christmas. Other than that, 2021 is about saving money and should be fairly quite for me and Day.
Next year though, should be an exciting year for us. A trip to Italy is on our list for the beginning year (very exciting, but I can’t go into detail at the moment) and I’d like to take mom to Amsterdam in the spring, for the tulip season.
In the spring, we will start looking for a new home, smaller, with a manageable size yard. And then, we start planning for an early retirement, at the very least, a significant lifestyle change, which will include lots of traveling!
Thanks for reading,
Luv ya,
Curly
